A Fantastic Male Sapho ciliate taken at the Atewa Range Forest Reserve, Ghana on the 27th November 2011.

Comes from the same "Calopterygidae" family as the European and American ‘Calopteryx’. Inhabits medium to fast forest streams like Calopteryx virgo (Beautiful demoiselle) in the UK and Calopteryx maculata (Ebony Jewelwing) in the USA.

Doesn’t appear to have a Common Name, so if anyone has any ideas……..
